Salvador de la Encina supervises the start of the project with KPMG/Innsomnia
Puertos 4.0 enters its diffusion phase to capture the interest of the startup fabric
- Puertos del Estado seeks to promote and encourage disruptive innovation as an element of competitiveness in the logistics-port sector
21-06-2019 (Ministry of Development). The president of Puertos del Estado, Salvador de la Encina, met this morning with representatives of the Joint Venture KPMG/Innsomnia, awarded the Ports 4.0 project, to supervise the next steps in the launch of this ambitious and innovative plan aimed at strengthening and facilitating the transition from the logistics-port sector to the 'smart ports' of the 4.0 economy.
Cándido Pérez, Luis Buzzi, Natán Díaz and Joaquim Martínez, directors of the Joint Venture, set out the schedule for the medium term and the objectives to be met, the dissemination phase of the program being the starting signal to capture the interest of startup in the country.
This is the first major milestone of a projection over several years to put innovative products and services at the service of the port community, promoting the testing and practical application of innovation strategies, a process that should culminate in the 'smart ports' concept that will put the port system of general Spanish interest at the forefront of a new global logistics model.
The Ports 4.0 project promoted by Puertos del Estado is, together with the Strategic Framework, one of the benchmarks that in the coming years will modernize the entire Spanish port system with the active participation of its agents.
