Puertos del Estado will welcome the 28 Port Authorities in the next few weeks
Business plan meetings have started up
- To be subsequently ratified by the Governing Council of Puertos del Estado and by the Boards of Directors of each one of the Port Authorities
10-01-2019 (Ministry of Development). This morning, the president of the Port Authority of Barcelona, Mercé Conesa, inaugurated a round of work meetings to finalize the business plans of the 28 port authorities belonging to the general interest port system. Salvador de la Encina, president of Puertos del Estado, is leading the agenda, where each public body will present its investment strategies, with specific projects and budgetary assignments, both for 2020 and with a multi-year perspective.
According to Salvador de la Encina, the business plans drawn up by the Port Authorities, and mutually agreed with Puertos del Estado, will encourage project development to improve each port's sustainability and competitiveness, extending all benefits to their respective areas of influence and, by extension, to the Spanish economy as a whole.
These Business Plans, along with Infrastructure Strategic and Master Plans, make up the strategic framework for technical, economic, financial and human resources development of the entire state-owned port system, all in line with the Government's economic and transportation policy.
These Business Plans, drawn up on a yearly basis, include a diagnosis of the situation, port traffic forecasts, economic-financial forecasts, management objectives, each port's environmental sustainability objectives and indicators, staff structure and job openings, management rate performance, financial programming, public investment programming, private investment estimates, annual performance target, as well as corrective coefficients and tariff rebates.
Puertos del Estado and the Port Authorities will reach an agreement on such Business Plans, which will be subsequently ratified by the Governing Council of Puertos del Estado and by the Boards of Directors of each one of the Port Authorities.
