Geographical scope and distribution

The Spanish Buoying System consists of a group of aids to navigation that renders services to the Spanish coast and fluvial channels regardless of their corresponding management institutions.
Different subsystems can be classified:

The public entity Puertos del Estado is responsible for managing and controlling all these subsystems as well as for its regulation along with the Lighthouse Authority. Furthermore, Puertos del Estado is responsible for the buoying system of the beaches and trap nets.
In addition to the Lighthouse and Buoying Network, this subsystem includes the Spanish DGPS Network for the Maritime Navigation..
