Puertos del Estado Advances in its Digital Transformation Project

• Grupo Satec will support the digitalization process of the management of the public agency under MITMA.

21-07-2021 (Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda). The public organization Puertos del Estado has entrusted the Spanish technology company SATEC to complete its digital transformation, offering strategic, technological and legal advice for the digitization of its management.

Back in 2018, Puertos del Estado drew up its Digital Transformation Plan, which, among its strategic lines of action, established the need for a new reference framework for information systems incorporating the digitization of the Public Body.

In terms of view of management efficiency, for Puertos del Estado, it is a priority and essential, within the framework of the Digital Transformation Plan of the General State Administration and its public bodies, to make the transition from electronic to digital services, in order to offer higher quality services.

This digital transformation process requires a new ICT service provision model, capable of combining the delivery of traditional technological services with the new paradigm of digital service exchange, which goes beyond the purely technological, insofar as these services will be the common tool that enables the integration of all types of processes, including administrative processes with citizens, together with the security, accessibility and availability of information, all contributing to the digitization of the management of State Ports.

The SATEC Group will accompany Puertos del Estado in the review of the previous work already done, as well as the updating and implementation of all the processes that will allow the technological modernization of the Entity to be carried out from the indicated perspectives: strategic, technological and legal. Thus, for example, as part of the project, a Digital Services Office will be set up to manage and support all the Entity's information systems, and an intelligent integration platform will be deployed to standardize and homogenize data flows between the different information sources in the port area.

The SATEC Group's collaboration with Puertos del Estado is not new, since it began in 1987 with an advanced computing service for applications and models of the physical environment, which meant the deployment of the first Convex Vector Supercomputer in Spain. Since that time, there have been many collaborations with the Entity, including the development of unique applications such as the PORTUS web platform (https://puertos.portus.es) or the iMar mobile application, available for iOS and Android, both focused on the visualization of ocean-meteorological information.

This new service is an important reference for the SATEC Group in digital transformation and integration of common systems of the Spanish Public Administration in terms of digital processing of files and adaptation to digitization laws.
