08-02-2023 (Spanish State Ports Public Body). Spanish ports of general interest will be present at the Fruit Logistica Trade Fair, under the brand "Ports of Spain" which will be held from 8 to 10 February in the city of Berlin. 11 Port Authorities (Almería, Bahía de Algeciras, Bahía de Cádiz, Barcelona, Bilbao, Castellón, Huelva, Málaga, S.C. Tenerife, Valencia and Vigo), which represent 86% of the total of this type of goods moved in 2022, will offer a wide range of infrastructures and services for importers and exporters from all over the world.

The 132m2 Ports of Spain stand (Hall 25 STAND No. A-61) will host numerous business meetings and will be visited by the German Commercial Counsellor, Mario Buisan and his team.

The main objective of our ports is to highlight to both national producers and importers the competitive advantages offered by our ports, as well as the possibility of a wide range of logistics and intermodal services.

Thus, Spanish ports offer more than 85 million square metres of land surface and storage areas, refrigerated warehouses with a capacity of nearly 2 million cubic metres, more than 300,000 linear metres of berthing, connections with any port in the world, border inspection points (BIP), phytosanitary services, and all kinds of logistics solutions.

Fruit Logística has become Europe's leading event for the sector. With more than 2,594 exhibitors from 87 countries, distributed in 30 pavilions, the offer is distinguished by geographical zones, with a specific one dedicated to Europe and another to the Mediterranean.

The more than 40,000 visitors who typically attend the show will be able to participate in presentations and discussions on data-driven supply chains, artificial intelligence, robotic automation, smart agriculture and other advanced systems that will bring new opportunities for both producers and the entire logistics and value chain that revolves around the sector.

Furthermore, employment in the fruit and vegetable sector represents 50% of agricultural employment, with 400,000 workers, and also employs 80,000 workers in handling and marketing in the production areas.
