Manuel Arana

Manuel Arana Burgos is a Civil Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, holding a Master's degree in Business Management for Construction and Real Estate Companies, as well as a Master's degree in Infrastructure and Public Services Management.

Appointed as the Director of Planning and Development at Puertos del Estado in January 2022, he has held the position of Deputy Director of Planning and Infrastructure since 2012, and previously served as the Head of the Investment Planning and Master Plans Area (2001-2012) at Puertos del Estado. Earlier in his career, he was the Head of the Projects Unit at the Port Authority of Avilés (1997-1998).

Currently, he is the President of the Technical Association of Ports and Coasts (ATPYC), where he previously served as Secretary for 12 years. He is also the Spanish representative of the PIANC association and a member of its finance committee, as well as a member of the board of directors of the RETE association.
