Lighthouse Commission
It was created on January 4th 1842, to define and establish navigation aids for the Spanish coasts and other matters related to navigation, composed of senior engineers from the Corps of Roads, Canals, and Ports and officers of the same category from the national Navy.
Currently, completely reformed, it is governed by Ministerial Order of February 27th 1996, with various organizations linked to maritime signaling represented.
In 2005, it celebrated its 500th session, after more than a century and a half of operation.
