Puertos del Estado launches a new call for Ideas and Commercial Projects under the Ports 4.0 fund with a budget of €6.7 million

The Ports 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado and the Port Authorities has published a new call for grants for Ideas and Commercial Projects, with a total budget of €6,750,000. The aim of this initiative is to attract, support and facilitate innovation in the logistics and port sector by promoting disruptive technologies and improving processes, products and services in this field.
An amount of €750,000 will be allocated to the Ideas category, while €6,000,000 will be dedicated to Commercial Projects.
With this new call, the Ports 4.0 Fund strengthens its commitment to the technological transformation of the sector, mobilising both public and private investment. The grants are intended to finance projects that introduce technological or applied innovations, generating added value for the Spanish port ecosystem.
The current call will remain open for a period of two months for Ideas and three months for Commercial Projects, allowing companies and sector-based consortia to submit their proposals through the Puertos del Estado electronic headquarters.
Since the launch of the Ports 4.0 Fund in 2020, more than 215 innovative ideas and projects have already been financed across the three categories (Ideas, Commercial Projects and Pre-commercial Projects), out of more than 900 applications submitted, with a total amount of €47 million.
In addition to today’s call, another call is planned for 2026 for Pre-commercial Projects, with a budget of €11,250,000, in accordance with the decision approved by the Interport Compensation Fund Distribution Committee at its meeting in October.
The Ports 4.0 Fund is consolidating its role as a key instrument for the development of innovation in maritime transport and port logistics in Spain, contributing to its international competitiveness.
