Vilagarcía Port, December 15, 2022.
The president of the public body Puertos del Estado, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, traveled to Vilagarcía de Arousa to participate, alongside the president of the Port Authority of Vilagarcía, José Manuel Cores Tourís, in the opening of the XV Technical Days on Labor Relations and Human Resources of the state port system, which will take place today and tomorrow in this locality.
This is the first occasion on which the Port Authority of Vilagarcía hosts technical days for workers from the Port Authorities and Puertos del Estado. Fifty people, representatives from 22 Port Authorities and Puertos del Estado, have traveled to Vilagarcía to attend presentations, roundtable discussions, and training sessions on human resources management and labor relations for two days.
The occasion is particularly important considering the recent approval of the Strategic Framework of the port system, which includes the expansion and continuous improvement of human capital as one of its strategic lines. The impact of this document on the field of human resources was addressed this morning by the president of Puertos del Estado in a presentation after the opening of the event. In his speech, Rodríguez Dapena emphasized the importance of the human capital of the ports, without which it would be impossible to achieve the goals we have set, adding that the personnel of the port system possesses indispensable experience and expertise to meet the needs of the Port Community and, ultimately, fulfill our function in the service of society.
In his opening speech, the president of the Port Authority of Vilagarcía, José Manuel Cores Tourís, highlighted the importance of the port in the historical evolution of Vilagarcía and its stimulating influence on the economic activity of its entire environment. Finally, Tourís thanked all the Port Authorities and Puertos del Estado for their presence at the event, as well as the contributions made during the discussions, which will undoubtedly be very useful for continuing to advance in the training of our professionals.
