The Puertos 4.0 Fund finances 47 new innovative ideas with €750,000
- With the approval of this resolution by the Inter-Port Compensation Fund Distribution Committee, which met today, the fund has now financed 178 projects since its creation, with an investment exceeding €30 million.
February 10, 2025 (Puertos del Estado). The Inter-Port Compensation Fund Distribution Committee, meeting today, has approved the provisional resolution for the allocation of grants by Puertos del Estado under the Puertos 4.0 fund in the Ideas category for the 2023 call.
A total of 87 applications were submitted in response to the call published on December 21, 2023, of which 80 were admitted, and ultimately, 47 projects have been selected for funding, totaling €750,000. This marks the third call in the Ideas category—aimed at financing projects in their earliest stages of development—since the launch of Puertos 4.0. The high number of proposals submitted reflects the continued interest in this open innovation fund within the state-owned port system, which aims to attract entrepreneurial talent to the logistics-port ecosystem. Among the priority innovation areas are logistics efficiency, automation and digitalization, sustainability, and security.
For the same December 2023 call, but under the Commercial Projects category, with a budget of €6 million, 67 applications were received, of which 65 were admitted and are currently under evaluation.
Additionally, a new Pre-Commercial Projects grant call is now open, with a budget of €11.25 million. Published in December 2024, this call has a three-month application period.
Since the launch of the Puertos 4.0 fund in 2020, a total of 178 innovative projects have been financed across its three categories (Ideas, Commercial Projects, and Pre-Commercial Projects), with a total investment of over €30 million, including those approved today.
