Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena

Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Transportation, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His doctoral thesis received the Extraordinary Award.

He has been working at Puertos del Estado since 1997, where he has held various positions, including Subdirector of External Relations, Head of Intermodality and Logistics Area, Head of Development and Normative Department, and, from 2007 until his appointment as President of Puertos del Estado in December 2021, he served as Director of Planning and Development. Previously, he was in charge of transportation studies and projects at the consulting firm TEMA.

Currently, he is the President of Madrid-Coslada Dry Port and a member of the Boards of Directors of Sasemar and Renfe Mercancías. He has also served as President of the company Conte-rail from 2008 to 2013 and a member of the Boards of Directors of the Port Authorities of Bahía de Algeciras, Cartagena, Marín, and Ría de Pontevedra.

He is part of multiple national and international committees and has authored articles and books on trade, logistics, and transportation.
